This is not an inexpensive hobby !
However, once you have made your initial investment it gets much better.
There are good deals on equipment and clothes out there, you just have to do a little searching. There are much more expensive items out there also, depending on what type of quality and authenticity you want. Many people make their own clothes and items. There are links to some sutlers who sell a variety of things you will need. Click links, select "Sutlers" and give them a look and shop around.
In general, we portray the year 1863 but depending on the event we are attending or specific reenactment the year(s) may vary from 1861-1865.
